Easy Street Retreat is situated on the banks of the Bellinger River in the Thora Valley near Bellingen in NSW Australia .

We are a couple of baby boomers who quit our jobs and moved here from Sydney on new year's day 2006.

The retreat is surrounded by natural beauty. It borders the Bellinger River and the Bellinger River River National Park. Platypuses are common along the river and many bird, reptile, insect and mammal species thrive in the lush rainforest surroundings.

There's a lot of hard work to do. Rain is abundant. Trees, shrubs, grasses and environmental weeds grow quickly. We have the satisfaction and joy of seeing our seedlings thrive, seeing native animals and birds busy with their lives, watching the river flow past our door watching catfish diligently protecting their eggs, and listening to frog orchestras on humid summer evenings.

You just don't get that in the city.
